Presenting the partially finished portrait to Miss World during her visit to Liverpool

Suzanne Elizabeth Bamber and Opal Suchata Chuangsri (Miss World)
Opal Suchata Chuangsri personally thanked Suzanne Elizabeth Bamber for her portrait to commemorate winning Miss World 2025 and was shocked to hear that Suzanne only had a few days to complete it.
Suzanne explained to Miss World, during their afternoon tea, how she wished to have been able to give her portrait the same time and detailing that she was able to dedicate to her portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Suzanne really wished to make Miss World's crown just as special.
Opal has respected Suzanne's artistic reputation and suggested to allow Suzanne more time to perfect the painting to the artists standard without a set time frame.
Suzanne is currently enjoying working on the finished painting for Miss World and has some exciting prospects moving forward in her art career.

Another highlight for @missworld was Opal being presented with a breathtaking portrait by renowned artist Suzanne Bamber 🎨. Suzanne’s work is already part of royal history — she famously painted Queen Elizabeth II being crowned, a piece the late Queen loved so much it’s now in Buckingham Palace’s King’s private collection.

Liverpool was honoured to welcome Opal Suchata,(21) the reigning Miss World, who was visiting Kirkby’s own Charlotte Grant, Miss World England, for a heartfelt and memorable day in the city.. Their visit began at Zoe’s Place – now rebranded as Little Lights Baby Hospice – the only baby-specific hospice in the UK.
Little Lights provides exceptional professional and loving care for babies aged 0–5 years with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses. The hospice offers respite, palliative and end-of-life care in a secure, homely and nurturing environment, where the wellbeing and comfort of each child and their family is the highest priority. Facilities include physiotherapy, medical care, music therapy, sibling support, bereavement care, counselling, hydrotherapy, sensory rooms and complementary therapies – all delivered with a holistic approach.
During the visit, Opal and Charlotte met with staff, nurses, babies and their families, engaging warmly and personally with everyone they encountered. Both were visibly moved when visiting the hospice’s Bereavement Suite, and their joy was clear when joining the children in the play area – kneeling on the floor, laughing, chatting and playing. The scene was reminiscent of the late Princess Diana’s renowned compassion on similar visits.
It was an absolute honour to welcome Opal to Liverpool and share such a meaningful day , part of her UK Beauty with a Purpose tour. Visiting Little Lights Baby Hospice was truly humbling — seeing the dedication of the staff and the courage of the families is something neither of us will ever forget.” – Charlotte Grant, Miss England
Following this deeply emotional experience, the day continued with a cultural tour of Liverpool. Highlights included an immersive Van Gogh exhibition at the Exhibition Centre, a panoramic Beatles City Sightseeing Bus Tour joined by the current and former Miss Ireland titleholders, and a sophisticated afternoon tea at The Bentley.
Caoimhe Kenny the newly crowned Miss Ireland said “ Spending the day in Liverpool with the incredible Opal, our reigning Miss World, was truly unforgettable. From exploring the city’s vibrant streets to sharing a beautiful afternoon tea, I was deeply inspired by her grace, kindness, and passion. The experience has ignited my excitement and determination to proudly step onto the Miss World stage next year, representing Ireland. Miss World is a celebration of inner beauty, strength, charity, community, and compassion.”
At The Bentley – which will host the Miss Liverpool City Region Final on Sunday 21st September 2025 – Opal was presented with a remarkable portrait by acclaimed artist Suzanne Bamber, who famously painted Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation portrait, now held in the King’s private collection at Buckingham Palace.
“Opal and Charlotte are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside,” said organisers. “Their warmth, grace and genuine care touched everyone they met. Liverpool will always remember their visit.”

Charlotte Grant shines as City's Ambassador as Miss World 2025 visits Liverpool
MISS Liverpool City Region, Charlotte Grant, recently played the role of a proud and gracious host, showcasing her vibrant Home City to a group of influential visitors. Among them were the inspiring 72nd Miss World, Thailand's Opal Suchata Chuangsri, along with Miss Louth, Caoimhe Kenny, and former Miss Ireland, Rosanna Davison. Charlotte, who holds a deep affection for the Liverpool City Region, was thrilled to share its world famous sights and culture.
Due to their tight 1 day schedule, the group embarked on a comprehensive whirlwind tour with Liverpool City Sights. This allowed them to see far more of the City than they could have on foot, maximizing their visit. Their journey included a visit to the acclaimed:- 'Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience' at the Exhibition Centre, a captivating art exhibition that left a lasting impression.
They also made a quick stop at The Bentley for a well deserved afternoon tea. During this stop, a special gift was presented to Miss World. She received a painting in progress from local portrait artist Suzanne Elizabeth Bamber, MA, who was notably commissioned by Queen Elizabeth to paint her portrait. Once complete, the painting will be shipped to Opal as a lasting memento of her visit.
The most significant part of the visit was a stop at the incredible Zoe's Place Baby Hospice. This vital organization is in the process of becoming an independent charity and moving to a new, purpose built building, thanks to a massive community fundraising campaign that generated over £6 million. The campaign was crucial in preventing the Hospice's closure in October 2024. Both Miss England and Miss World have committed to helping Zoe’s Place raise even more funds in the future. The Hospice is renowned for providing specialist respite, palliative, and bereavement care for babies and young children. To learn more or to donate, please visit their website:- LZP.Org.UK.
Shortly after her Liverpool hosting duties, Charlotte was invited to the Thai embassy in London. She attended with Miss World and other influential women, including:- Jess Cagen, a previous Miss England winner and an aerospace engineer. This invitation highlights the significant role Charlotte is playing on a national and international level. More details about her visit to the Thai embassy can be found on the Miss England website.
Charlotte Grant's journey is truly remarkable. She's a woman who was told she would never walk again after a freak bouncy castle accident. Defying all odds, she has graced the catwalks at the Miss World Finals in Hyderabad, India, and now represents England as Miss England. Her story of resilience and determination is an inspiration to many and she has certainly done the Liverpool City Region proud.
